The Newton Township Division of Fire & EMS is always accepting applications for our hiring list. We hire firefighters, paramedics, and firefighter-paramedics who can hold their own on a three-person shift.
What we look for
You should hold (or be working toward) current Ohio certifications — Firefighter II at minimum, and EMT-Basic or higher. Paramedic certification is preferred for any EMS-leaning role. Beyond certifications, we look for people who keep a level head on a working fire, who treat patients and their families with care, and who show up ready every shift.
The work
Three firefighters per shift, 24 hours on. Calls are a mix of medical priorities, motor-vehicle crashes, structure and wildland fires, and mutual aid into Madison Township and the surrounding response area. You will work on every apparatus we operate and you will be expected to keep training current.
